I have just spent a week in Wiltshire and was recomended to the Farmshop.
The Owner/Butcher was so friendly the food in the cafe so good, the Meat so good, I returned twice in a week.
I purchased Rabbit, Venison, Sausages, Steaks of beef, Fagotts and Bacon. Without doubt, the best of each I have had in a long long time (and I once bred Venison!).
Don’t miss it!
The best Aberdeen Angus south of the border!! The butcher was very friendly and couldn’t have been more helpful. The new cafe/restaurant is fab, with a varied choice of snack or meal for everyone, and in really comfortable, pleasant surroundings; we’ll be sure to call again!
Whenever I drive through Seend on my travels from Oxfordshire a visit to the Gt. Thronham farm buthcher is a must to fill the freezer. Always courteous, helpful service and the best meat one could hope to find.
A huge thank you to all at Great Thornham for helping make our children’s Nativity so special.
“Mary” and “Joseph” came along a few weeks ago to have photos taken with the wonderful donkey. These were used last week to project whilst the children told the Christmas story.

My work has meant I have lived in different parts of the country so I’ve had the opportunity to buy meat from various sources both farm and proper butcher. I can categorically say that the meat I’ve had from Thornham has been the best quality and most delicious. One of their specialities is the venison. Superb. And their beef is wonderful. It’s a small shop but you can get any cut of meat butchered expertly. I think it’s brilliant and can’t recommend it highly enough.
I have been buying my meat from Great Thornham Farm Shop for the last 5 years and I wouldn’t go any where else. It’s the finest meat I have ever tasted. Once I bought a supermarkets 21 day hung sirloin steak, it didn’t taste as good and it was considerable more expensive.
If you want good meat go to Great Thornham.
Fantastic little farm shop with new area for children to see farm animals. Very helpfull Staff went out of there way to show us around at weekend
Very rustic shop, with meat cut to order by butcher on the counter, I’d recommend the Fillet and Rump Steaks.
