Just visited Gore farm and had a lovely meal with my family. The staff could not do enough.
Try the Tea for two you will not be disapointed
AVOID!!!
There really are not many places that serve such awful food. It looks so promising on the menu but boy is it bad when you get it.
Lesson learned and i will not be returning!!
Really awful food now, i had heard that it had been bad but i didnt listen. Lovely surroundings….yes but thats not enough. Bring back the old cream teas and pick your own and get rid of the rubbish they have there now!!
Great food, great prices, friendly staff and a beautuful setting! The animals and nature trails are a great new addition to the BarnYard, the whole family will definitely be returning very soon!
A great day out, the children loved petting the animals whilst we sat and enjoyed coffee and cake. A beautiful setting especially for the summer.
great shop, great setting, will be back
I recently visited The Barnyard and I am pleased to say that it was a fantastic day out with stunning surroundings. My partner and I had a meal in the restaurant, we found the service excellent and the staff were very friendly. The food itself was superb and the desserts absolutely amazing! I would recommend the restaurant to anyone I know.
The farm shop has such a variety of quality fruit and veg and some great gift ideas, I will definately be returning soon and I am sure the children will love the pick your own strawberries which we were advised will return this summer!!
Had a meal in the restaurant 2 years ago, it was diabolical.
Read it was under new management so tried again October 2009…
Well, they must still have the same “CHEF”?
Over-cooked meat and “raw” vegetables, broccoli, cauliflower and carrots, boring, boring, boring, boring… and tastless.
And overpriced, the unimaginative deserts were no better.
For years i have gone to Gore Farm and always loved its quirky nature. It has a great little shop and fantastic pick-your-own….until my most recent visit. What a shame, no more pick your own. Instead a terrible restaraunt which serves some of the worst food i have had in a long time, close to school dinners. I mean come on a fish cake that is more puddle because it doesnt hold together! Whats more, they dont even offer a cream tea any more! Even the staff are wondering how long the place is going to last, that tells you something!
What a shame and what a complete shambles, i hope it closes and someone does the right thing with it again!
Recently acquired new management which is breathing new life into the whole venue – great tourist attraction, with walks, gift shop, maze and restaurant and recently added bar with entertainment.
Farm shop is spotless with good quality produce, although not always as fresh as it could be. Slightly pricey on some goods, however sometimes cheaper on others. Great variety and often provide locally grown produce which is always good to see. Lots of jars of unusual jams, chutneys etc and ‘posh’ tins of food, sweets, oils etc, nice variety, lots to see.
A lovely place to visit with added bonus of a good farm shop.
